Dream Job
The League has spoken - If money was not a concern and you could choose any career path, what would be your ultimate dream job?
I've missed that last few LoEBs and my apologies for that. I was really looking forward to the “What if…? — Write an alternate turn of events for a pop culture storyline” and "Post a photo of a shelf of items that displays your love for pop culture" assignments. Unfortunately, life got in the way for the former and most of my display items are still boxed up* for the latter. But this weeks assignment is simple enough and I've got time.
When I was kid, my dad and I watched a lot of SciFi and Fantasy movies and show. Doctor Who, Ray Harryhausen films and, of course, Star Trek. I remember one day my dad showed my a bunch of photos of a new space ship, called a Space Shuttle orbiter, named the Enterprise and the actors from Star Trek were also in the picture. I was fascinated. Then SciFi and space travel seemed to be everywhere. There was Star Wars, Buck Rogers, Moonraker, etc. That's when I decided what I wanted to be when I grow up...
An Astronaut!
I started focusing on my science and math classes (that's what the teacher told me all astronauts need). I would buy every model of every spacecraft every built. I learned about all the space programs and all the astronauts involved. I even ordered the info kit for Space Camp and tried saving my money to go. Unfortunately, things happened. I didn't get to be an astronaut, but I still like my job. But in answer to the League assignment, yeah, if money was not a problem, I would want to be an astronaut.
Or a Jedi. I'm good either way.
Looks like I'm not the only one that wanted to be an astronaut.
And some folks are already working their Dream Job.
